A charming late 19th century, Victorian pine glazed display cabinet. Fitted with a pair of glazed doors, one door with its original cast knob and brass latch, opening onto three fixed shelves behind. The wonderfully worn top and moulded base give it a good architectural presence, and the pine has taken on a lovely soft, weathered colour with age.
It carries all the charm typical of Victorian pine furniture, knocks, marks, historic woodworm, and minor repairs throughout, each adding to its authenticity and character.
Given the proportions, tall and wide but quite shallow — it's likely this was adapted from a larger piece at some point, which was common practice when pieces were altered to suit a new space. It would now make a wonderful display cabinet or hallway cabinet.
