Furniture With a History. A Home With a Soul.
New Arrivals
A really lovely stripped pine glazed cabinet most likely from Central or Eastern Europe, dating to the latter half of the 19th century. These were typically used as the upper section of a larger dresser or buffet, though it works beautifully as a standalone cupboard or display cabinet.
The two doors retain their original wavy-cut glazing bars and old glass, which has that wonderful slight distortion you only get with antique panes. Original iron key and diamond-shaped brass escutcheon are both present. The interior has been painted white at some point, which keeps things practical and fresh inside. The fully adjustable shelves give plenty of display space.
The pine has been stripped back and shows all the character you'd hope for, knots, grain variation, honest signs of age and use and historic woodworm. Solid and sturdy throughout with hand-cut joinery to the back boards.
A versatile piece that would work well in a kitchen, living room or hallway.

A beautifully ebonised French chest of drawers dating to the late 19th century, most likely in the Louis Philippe or Napoleon III style. Made from fruitwood and finished in deep black with a lightly distressed, brushed quality that gives it real depth and character.
Four generous drawers with the most wonderful brass details throughout — ornate ring pulls, diamond-shaped escutcheons on every drawer and elegant reeded moulding to the drawer fronts. It sits on original bracket feet which suit the piece perfectly.

A really handsome and large late 19th century continental pine armoire, most likely German or Central European. The original brass hardware is the standout detail, ornate escutcheons and bail handles with a lovely aged patina, all intact and complete with the original key.
Reeded pilasters, a well-proportioned cornice and it sits proudly on bracket feet. Inside, three shelves and a singular drawer give plenty of practical storage. The pitch pine has a lovely warm colour to it, with plenty of character, minor historic woodworm and charm. The base has been replaced at some point, not original, but solid and it does the job without detracting from the piece.
