A large Victorian pine (circa 1870-1880) chest of drawers with a classic two-over-three drawer layout and a good, solid presence. The pine has a lovely warm colour throughout, with plenty of character in the grain and the sort of wear and patina that only comes with age.
The chest has been through our workshop, where it has been repaired where needed, cleaned, stripped back and finished with a fresh wax polish. This has brought out the natural beauty of the timber while preserving its original character.
Standing on a substantial plinth base and retaining its original Arts and Crafts period brass drop handles, it offers plenty of practical storage across five generously sized drawers. The simple lines and honest construction make it a versatile piece that works just as well in a period home as it does in a more contemporary setting.
