A characterful and decorative 19th century pine chest of drawers, likely Dutch in origin, dating to around 1880. The case has a later white-washed, limed finish which has worn back beautifully over time, revealing the warm grain and natural patina of the pine beneath.
Fitted with two short over three long graduated drawers, each with its original turned wooden knobs, and raised on its original, bold turned bun feet. Drawer interiors are honest, untouched pine showing age-appropriate wear.
Plenty of character, a couple of small repairs and historic woodworm, which of course has been treated as a precaution. We have repaired this chest where necessary and ensured the drawers run smoothly for many years of use.
