A generous and characterful farmhouse kitchen table, constructed from a beech frame with a wonderfully scrubbed sycamore top, a combination long favoured for kitchen and preparation furniture, as sycamore was specifically chosen for its neutral, food-safe qualities.
The top has developed a beautiful pale, bleached surface through years of scrubbing and use, full of honest character and warmth. Two generous drawers to the front retain their solid construction throughout, fitted with later but old cup handles.
At 153cm wide and 91cm deep this is a genuinely useful, large kitchen table with plenty of room for a family around it. Dating to the mid-20th century, circa 1930s-1940s.
Please note the front right leg has been previously sanded back, resulting in a slight concave curve — visible but entirely in keeping with the honest, working history of the piece. Priced accordingly.
